Tips that will Help you to Revive a Tired Garden

Do you feel as though your garden is looking a little tired and lifeless? If so then now is the time for you to breathe some life into it.

If you follow this guide then you will soon find that it’s easier than ever to do that, and you’re bound to see an improvement in no time at all.

Trim your Topiary

Trimming your topiary will give your garden an instant facelift. It will also help to make your garden look managed and well-maintained.

Most evergreen topiary, including box and laurel, will grow quickly and thanks to the warmer weather, you won’t have to worry about them suffering frost damage.

Before you trim anything like this, just make sure that there aren’t any nesting birds. If there are then make sure that you leave it until the summer.

If you know that all is clear then make sure that you target stems that might have grown beyond the desired shape.

They will turn dominant if you do not deal with them right now, so keep that in mind.

Pressure Wash

You also need to make sure that you pressure wash and then weed your patio. If you notice that your patio is a bit tired and you have thought about replacing it for quite some time then make sure that you hold off dealing with it for a while.

You may have some great slabs that are waiting to be revived. Dig out your pressure washer and remove any algae or moss.

Be steady when it comes to the mortar that could be between the slabs if you can, because this may dislodge it if you happen to be a bit too overkill with your pressure washer.

Another benefit of pressure washing is that it helps to turn a slippery surface into one that is much safer, so make sure that you keep that in mind.

If you want to revive your garden, you may want to look into artificial turf installation as a way to spruce things up once more.

Climbers

Never turn your back on a climber, such as clematis. The main reason for this is because they tend to grow very quickly and they can become unruly before you know it.

You need to use ties as this is the best way for you to hold the stem in position. Don’t make them too tight though because if you do then the shoot won’t have enough room to thicken.

If you are using ties then make sure that you keep them relatively loose and then loosen them up as time goes on. If you can do this then you will soon see that you end up being able to reap the benefits.

Clean your Greenhouse

Greenhouses are not productive in winter, especially when compared to both spring and summer. Now is a great time for you to begin organizing things.

Clear out tables and make sure that you work on the paddling pool and the BBQ if you can. You may find that algae and dirt have accumulated over time and that this is blocking out light.
