Eowyn loves animals almost as much as Neva, and they both pester me constantly for more pets, my answer is that they already have chickens, but they tell me that they don’t do very much and they are impossible to train and teach them tricks! Which I probably can’t argue with…
When we were asked if we would like to review a Hedgiez, Eowyn was extremely excited, if you have no idea what a hedgiez is, it is a very cute hedgehog, with a mane of fuzzy hair and it does all sorts of tricks, like roly polys and if you press her nose she sneezes.
There are quite a few Hedgiez to choose from, but as Eowyn’s favourite colours are pink and purple, Tumbles was perfect.
The one thing I detest about toys is getting them out of the boxes, they always seem to take a degree in engineering just to free them from their packaging! Thankfully the Hedgiez was pretty simple, just two lots of single knots, a;though you could cut them, I just undid them.
The Hedgiez does require 4 AAA batteries, thankfully I always have a stock of them in the drawer!
It is very easy to interact with, if you stroke it’s head it does a roly poly, which the boys find hilarious, particularly if she is too near to the edge of the table and literally tumbles off!
I have found her cradled in the dolls pushchair quite a few times and Eowyn cradles her like a baby.
These interactive animals are perfect for children who would like a pet, but their mean parents won’t let them have anything that makes a mess in the house!
You can purchase a Hedgiez from Amazon, priced at less than £30, it is certainly less expensive than a dog or cat, and it won’t need walkies or a change of cat litter!
