Sure, laying in a hammock with a big cup of coffee and relaxing is wonderful but you need to fill the time with more than that. 1 – Get to know the other campers
Camping can be an extremely social event. It’s great to meet other campers since you know you already have a few things in common. This is one of the easiest ways to get to know like-minded people. Make sure that you don’t withdraw into your own little world, but, instead, you seek out getting to know your fellow campers.
There are many ways to reach out and get to know your new neighbors. The most obvious is to share some food. Cooking outside is a lot of fun and sharing what you create is a surefire way to involve the other campers in your area.

2 – Learn new skills
You have a lot of time and very few distractions when you camp which is the perfect recipe for learning a new skill. If you have been interested in learning something new but often find it difficult to find the time and the peace to get started then take advantage of camping.
If you are looking to learn to knit or crochet then you will find this is the perfect time to sit quietly and figure it out without having to run around or stop what you’re doing every five minutes. The same goes for cooking on a fire, whittling wood, or anything else that requires a lot of patience and can be done anywhere.
3 – Explore the area
Wherever it is that you set up your camp there is sure to be some spectacular nature around. You should do your best to get to know the flora and fauna of the area. Walk around with a field guide for the area and try to identify the plants that you come across. Bird watching is a lot of fun when you have some binoculars and want to understand the wildlife in the area.
You could find a little stream that is full of life as well by looking at a map of the area.
