Eowyn loves all things jewellery related, she has more necklaces and rings than I have ever had, she has so many I struggle to find places to hang all of them.
When we were given the opportunity to review TAG Jewellery Set she immediately shouted “YES” and jumped up and down on the spot, she then asked me every day if it had arrived yet!
The day it arrived she was at school, so I had a very happy girl that afternoon.
She was so desperate to do it that she started to unpack and read it for herself! Luckily I stopped her long enough to take a couple of pics!
It has everything you need to make eight different projects, the booklet is step by step and everything is included in the kit, right down to the pva glue you use to varnish it.
We started with a Tag Necklace, it is a little tricky to start off with as the letters that you use to print are very small and I can see why it has an age of 8+ as Eowyn aged seven and three quarters (I had to be precise!) struggled with getting the right amount of pressure so that the letters didn’t go straight through the bottom.
First you shape the clay, then you add whichever message you wish, Eowyn printed ‘I am a *’ I put it in the oven and baked it for the time stated and this part worked really well, we then varnished it using the pva glue, it all went smoothly until we came to the painting part, which went a little smudgy, so I would say this is the part where an older sibling or parent may come in handy!
The clasps were quite easy to fix onto the thread, and they slid through the hole that was created with ease.
Next project was a bracelet.
Eowyn had great fun adding lots of gold and silver metallic powder, I had just as much fun cleaning it all up afterwards!
Our thoughts
Priced at just £9.99 I think this set is great value for money, it would make a great birthday present for one of Eowyn’s friends birthday, the age range is about right, although if it is being used by a younger child, I would definitely recommend adult supervision.
There are still plenty more projects for Eowyn to attempt during the school holidays, so it has a good play value.
Eowyn really enjoyed making her own jewellery and is already planning her next project to make something special for her two BFFs.

Our girls loved these when they were younger, and I think my 16 year old still wears some of hers, she definitely has them! So much nicer than off-the-shelf 🙂
