You know what I mean, the children are out in the garden having a kick about, next thing you hear “MUUUM, I’ve lost the ball” or “The ball went over the next doors garden”
The children LOVE playing football in the garden, we are quite lucky that the top part of our garden is surrounded by big high bushes, so we don’t lose that many balls, well, we didn’t used to when they were little, but the bigger they get, the harder they hit the balls, especailly Kaide who is trying to copy certain footballers and kicking it as high as he can.
Our next door neighbours have recently got a dog, so i’m guessing if we kick a ball over, it may not be seen again!
I was sent some information about a great new product called Open Goaal, it is a football net, that has a wall of netting behind it, which stops the balls from flying over the fence, and the great thing about it is that it slides out of the way, just like a curtain, when its not in use.
To say that Kaide was super excited was an understatement…
When it arrived, I was surprised to see that it was very compact in a long cardboard box, and then we tipped out the contents …
The instructions were quite simple to follow, although we did need two adults to put it together, just because of the weight and height of the poles.
It took approximately half an hour to put together, I was surprised at the overall size, and can see why it says on the website to check if it will fit in your garden, because it really is huge. We are fortunate that we have a very large garden, so it was perfect.
Once the poles were set in place, we had to thread the rope through the top part of the goal, and then peg down the actual goal.
In no time at all, we had the goal ready for use…
They absolutely adore the new goal, we had a sleepover for Kaide’s 9th birthday and all eight of the boys had a great afternoon, with not one lost ball, so how big does a garden need to be …
The width is adjustable. You’ll need a rectangle of grass the following size:
1. Standard size – 2.0m deep, and between 6.3m and 9.0m wide. (6.6ft deep, and 21 – 30ft wide).
2. Large size – 2.3m deep, and between 8.5m and 11.0m wide. (7.5ft deep, and 28 – 36ft wide)

Hi Mandi. I’m Jonathan the founder of Open Goaaal!. Your blog just popped up on my websearch tool. I’m really delighted that your kids lover the goal. And what you say happens often. A sleepover, lots of kids, and a mass penalty shoot out. Hopefully the neighbours are happier too.
I must say though that it looks like you might have missed out a little of step 22 of the instructions because the crossbar and goalposts have gone somewhat floppy. If you go to each pole and pull down the crossbar rope tightly and then tie it in figure of 8, then the goal will stand erect and look great.

I couldn’t quite see what I was supposed to be looking at, at first all I could see was the white goal net. And I thought to myself, if my kids had that the ball will still go straight over the neighbours garden. Then I zoomed in on your pics and could see it!! It’s just what I need!!! I will be looking into this, maybe get it my eldest for xmas
