As the weather is now looking pretty stable, and its looking a little more like spring/summer I am looking ahead to my wardrobe and the summer.
Every day for the school run you will find me in a tunic top, jeggings and either boots or canvas pumps, all three items are comfortable, easy to wear and don’t require any fiddly washing instructions or the dreaded ironing!
But sometimes I need something a little bit smarter, these days because I work from home I tend not to have to think about a specific work wardrobe, however one of my biggest changes this year is to push myself out of my comfort zone and actually start saying yes to events that I am invited to through blogging, therefore I may have to consider leaving my jeggings at home.
So when Fashion World asked if I would like to take a look at their website and choose some items of clothing, I knew I had to steer clear of my comfort clothes and look at something new.
Last year I took part in a photo shoot for an article in a magazine and the clothing choices were not what I would usually wear, however when I tried on the geometric jumpsuit I was actually surprised that it felt good and looked pretty great, with that in mind I decided to go for some longer dresses, but only being 5ft2, I sometimes have a problem with them being about 6 inches too long, so I chose some mid length ones, which were more like calf length on me!
The first I chose was a polka dot print midi wrap dress, when I wore it to the theatre I teamed it with a small pair of strappy black sandals, but it could also be dressed down with a pair of canvas pumps, or add a pair of funky tights and doc martens, it really is quite versatile. It is really comfortable and I felt really good wearing it.
The second dress I chose was a Neon Rose Floral Printed Midi Dress, this one I wore out for the evening when the weather was a little chilly, so I wore it with brown winter boots, its a very silky material but washes brilliantly and requires only minimal ironing!
And thirdly this dress was ruched front A Line Dress in oriental, this one I wore with a pair of black leggings and a pair of bright coral canvas pumps, it was perfect for my trip to London with Xene for the National Camping and Caravanning Week 2019 launch event.
On Saturday I am off out to a beat boxing evening with Asa, now I feel confident that I actually have some different choices in my wardrobe for a night out with my husband.
I love the polka dot dress and the oriental one. I literally live in dungarees or jeans and tee shirts at the moment, but I love dresses, I just prefer to feel more casual.
It’s always nice to treat yourself and you got some great picks. I know how you feel about literally living in the same stuff!!
Oh those dresses are each so lovely! And each of them look like they could be dressed up or down.
It’s so easy to slip into wearing the same old thing day in day out. These dresses are lovely and refreshing change.
Oh wow those dresses are all very pretty but the one with the orange and mustard flowers is really beautiful.
I love the oriental print dress. I love a midi dress, they’re so versatile.
Ohh love your picks and perfect for the sping and summer season. Also the prints are so pretty!! Ace choices
