Advice on How to Have a Good Day No Matter What

From time to time, things can go wrong and our mental health may suffer, whilst most of us bounce back from it, some people struggle to function and carry out our daily activities. If that sounds like you, here’s a bit of help. Read on to discover some super effective tips on how you can have a good day, no matter what the situation is.

Move It

Exercising in the morning has many benefits, but not all of them revolve around weight loss. Many studies have revealed that moving your body in the morning (even if it is just brisk walking or a bit of stretching) can help stimulate the release of endorphins- chemicals that make you feel happier. When you start your day with some light exercise, you won’t just feel active and energetic, but also more positive and in a good mood.

Set Intentions

Setting intentions for the day right as you get up in the morning can be very powerful. When you consciously make the decision to find the good in your day, and take charge of what you have and do your bit towards pursuing your goals, it can put you in a very energised, motivated frame, where you’ll be feeling inspired and happy! Plus, you’ll also end up feeling a lot more organised and less overwhelmed as you start the day!

Get Out

When you’re feeling low, getting out of bed can seem like a big task, and that’s exactly what you shouldn’t do. Muster that strength and get out- embrace the million opportunities out there and immerse yourself in the one that makes you feel the happiest. If nothing, just go out for a walk in a park nearby- being close to nature can feel uplifting and you’ll end up returning home feeling calm, relaxed and in a much better mood.

Do Something Nice

When you’re going through something stressful, it can be easy to lose yourself into it. Make it a point to do something nice for yourself often- just as you do for the people around you. Invest some time in self care and allow yourself to recharge. Whether it is going out for a long drive on your own, or spending a lazy Sunday afternoon reading a good book- do it- do more of what makes you feel positive and happy.

Say ‘Thank You’

There are very few things that work as effectively as gratitude does when it comes to transforming your day into a better one. Make a conscious attempt to acknowledge and be grateful about the blessings that you have in your life. Say ‘thank you’ often- especially when you’re walking- say thanks with every step that you take and for as many different possessions and aspects of your life that you can.

I hope these suggestions will help you if you are having a bad day, but please if you have tried all of these suggestions and you are still not feeling like you are coping, it is always worth reaching out to a professional or a close friend, nobody needs to feel alone if they are not feeling themselves.
