Despite the advances in technology, we find ourselves compelled to be busy. Thus, we often do not have the time to do anything else.
This can be quality time with friends and family, going to the gym, or cleaning our house.
If you are the latter, you might want to do something to help maintain your house’s cleanliness. That said, we have listed down nine time-saving cleaning tips for the extremely busy people:
1. Single room at a time
If you are a busy person, it is advisable to clean one room at a time. The key here is to start from the deepest part of your house, and then going outwards.
Doing this will help you avoid moving back and forth around the house every time you are cleaning. In addition, this makes your cleaning tasks manageable.
Although you cannot clean your entire house, you can rest assured that you can clean at least one room.
2. Cleaning a little each day
At Cleaning Exec Home Cleaning Services NYC, cleaning a little each day will go a long way in making sure that your house is neat and organized.
It is common for people to do their cumbersome cleaning tasks on the weekend. But for busy people, cleaning tends to be postponed often.
Instead of waiting for your cleaning day, you should clean a little bit of your home each day.
You can devote one day to one room and clean it from top to bottom. Or you can opt with wiping the kitchen counters today and the bathroom surface tomorrow. This can be a great way to break down a colossal cleaning task.
As long as you are chipping away at your cleaning tasks, any method can work for you.
3. Prioritise important stuff
If you do not have the time to clean an entire home, you can instead plan out the three most crucial cleaning tasks that you need to do each day.
For example, your goal for the week is to clean the kitchen. What you can do is list down the tasks that can help you achieve this goal. And then dedicate a day wherein you can do at least one task. That task will depend on importance or urgency.
Knowing how to prioritise and pace yourself is key to cleaning your home, even when you are busy.
This makes your cleaning tasks more manageable. And you will feel a lot better knowing that even if you did not clean your entire home, you finished the most crucial ones.
4. Use microfiber cloths
Placing microfiber cloths around your home in critical areas can help you save time when cleaning up spills and messes.
For instance, you spilled a drink in the kitchen. All you need to do is grab a microfiber cloth to wipe it down—no need to panic. A microfiber cloth could also come in handy when cleaning various kitchen surfaces after washing the dishes.
But you know what’s cool about microfiber cloths? They are environment-friendly.
That’s because they are washable and reusable. This prevents you from using paper towels and helps you divert solid waste to the landfill.
5. Store cleaning supplies within your reach
When you are cleaning your home, you should make sure that you have all your cleaning supplies within reach.
You do not want to spend a lot of time going back and forth to fetch cleaning tools and solutions. Having storage where you can keep your tools and can carry around will help you keep your cleaning supplies in one place and within reach.
You will find yourself saving a lot more time than you would expect by ensuring that every item you need to clean is there in the same room with you.
6. Clean from top to bottom
When you are cleaning any room, the best course of action for you would be to clean from top to bottom. You do not want to clean floors and then start dusting your ceiling, and then let that dust and dirt fall slowly onto your newly cleaned floors.
That’s why you should begin cleaning your rooms from top to bottom.
Not having to redo your cleaning tasks is a sure-fire way to ensure that you finish your cleaning tasks as fast as possible.
7. Ask for professional help
Sometimes, we are too busy to get anything clean in the first place. Maybe it is because you have neglected one too many cleaning tasks.
As a result, you need to do a thorough cleaning. And this may require the help of a professional home cleaner.
The good thing about this is that you can maintain your house’s cleanliness, no matter how busy you can be.
Moreover, hiring a professional home cleaner comes with a lot of benefits. This includes maintaining your appliances and not worrying about what cleaning tools you need to have.
A professional home cleaner can clean your home faster and more efficiently.
8. Clean more often
As mentioned earlier, it is common for people to spend at least a day to clean their entire house. But if you are a busy person, it might help if you clean more often instead.
Cleaning more often means that you will not have to do rigorous cleaning tasks. That’s because your home is already clean.
But to achieve this, you must break down your cleaning tasks into small ones. That way, you do not have to do intensive cleaning tasks, and you do not have to do it for a long time.
9. Prepare and plan
Having a routine will help you tackle your cleaning tasks faster and more efficiently. You should also keep in mind that getting things done more quickly means that you can get back on your other responsibilities.
Therefore, you should plan out your day and the cleaning tasks you need to accomplish each day.
Great tips, I have certain things I do on certain days that way I am not trying to do it all in one go, although would love to pay someone to come and do it all for me
As a disabled person I can’t do much so I give myself a time limit and work for 15 minutes then rest. I only work 3 times a day and I choose the places that need it the most. Unfortunately (or fortunately some may say) my kitchen is huge, so 3 lots of 15 minutes is still not enough for a proper clean. Some great tips here though, and I’m a huge fan of microfibre clothes, I have them in different colours for different things (green kitchen, blue bathroom, white windows.)
Great tips! I do a little each day and then on a weekend I rope the family into helping having a deep clean downstairs. x
Some very good tips in here! I try to clean whenever I see a mess. My grandma always said her ‘trick to spring cleaning’ was not waiting until spring.
These are great tips! I try my best to keep it clean, but it’s hard to when balancing everything else. Thank you for sharing!
