What happens when your tattoo is no longer wanted?

Tattoos have a big divide on opinion, you either love them or hate them, I am on the side of it’s entirely up to you, but if you decide to have one, don’t come moaning to me when you change your mind, or it no longer feels right!

Rewind to 1995 and I am 19 and carefree, my  favourite person in the whole wide world had just passed away and I was feeling pretty angry with the world, so I decided to go and have my belly button pierced, way before it was super popular, but that didn’t numb the pain like I thought it would, so I went to the local tattoo place, located ion the end of Great Yarmouth pier and chose a very sedate dolphin riding a wave, it wasn’t as much of a spare of the moment thing as the belly button, as I had thought about where I wanted it and the size, knowing that when I got older and I no longer felt the need to reveal my tattoo, I could cover it up with a lower cut swimsuit.

And here I am 23 years later and I still don’t regret that dolphin, but I am glad that I can hide it away when i’m on the beach, not because I don’t like it, but just that I am now getting older and there are enough young people’s on show.

My sister got a tattoo a little while after me, but, like many she wasn’t satisfied with just one, and she now has them dotted over her body in various places, and she is happy with them, but what happens if you are not happy with your tattoos, maybe you had a name put on that is no longer in your life, maybe your super funky design now makes no sense whatsoever, whatever your reason for wanting to get rid of it, there are solutions to your problem, in the form of laser tattoo removal.

Tattoos seem to be very popular at my husband’s rugby club, from entire masterpieces on the back to full tribal sleeves, but so often the lads change their mind and want to get rid of them completely or have them treated so that they can have another one on top, after much research for a friend, I found these two clinics that sound perfect for removal of unwanted tattoos.

City Tattoo Removal Clinic  has over 15 years of experience in laser tattoo removal. The tattoo removal lasers are state of the art and gold standard for laser tattoo removal, meaning they can remove tattoos safely and effectively unlike many pop up clinics that have outdated machines and a lack of experience.

With three centres in London, and using the the Q-Switch RevLite, PicoSure & PicoWay. Laser tattoo removal works by pulsing laser light into the tattoo which shatters the ink into tiny pieces, the body spots these particles as a foreign substance and removes the minute ink particles using the natural detoxification processes. Laser tattoo removal does not damage the skin, like excision, dermabrasion and acid.

or

Pulse Light Clinic  offers a range of packages, and have over 15 years of expertise in skin care, and have even been seen on BBC and Channel 5.  They offer fewer treatments with better clearance and are one of only 2 clinics in the UK using the PicoSure and PicoWay lasers.

Tattoo removal treatments are for a minimum of 3 months, they open until 8pm so suitable for working around your work commitments.

So I shall be keeping this information handy, as I am sure that one of the rugby lads will decide that their work of art is no longer required or they feel like a change, who knows, maybe one of my own children will decide that they REALLY want tattoos, and despite mums warning they know best, until they change their mind!!
