Neva absolutely loves animals and reading, so when we were asked to review The Jungle Book-The Mowgli Stories via audible, she obviously jumped at the chance.
Here is what audible have to say about the “Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book – The Mowgli Stories is available here. 25p from every download goes to help ZSL build a future for wildlife. This 3-hour audio adaptation of a children’s classic has been brought to life by many well-known voices from British film, TV, radio and comedy, including Bill Bailey as Baloo, Richard E Grant as Kaa and Martin Shaw as Shere Khan”.
Neva absolutely loves her Kindle Fire, which completely surprised me as her older sister Xene loves the experience of having an actual book.
Most nights I will find Neva hiding under her covers reading on the kindle!
But audio books are slightly different, you can listen to them whilst drifting off to sleep, or if you are like me and can’t read whilst travelling without getting sick, then listening to an audio book is perfect.
Neva and I loved this audio book, the voices are perfect for the characters and it had us both transfixed throughout, the other children also came in and out and listened to parts of the story, although Eowyn did ask when they were going to sing ‘Bare Necessities’!
I still love to read, but this is definitely a great alternative, especially for a busy mum of seven that no longer has the spare time to sit and read a book.
Neva loves the fact that she can listen to her favourite stories, whilst doing her homework on the laptop – she has mastered the art of multi-tasking!
And of course the most amazing part is the fact that listening to this great story also helps ZSL build a future for wildlife which Neva is fully supported of as she wants to be a zoologist or own an animal park.
