All of the children love playing on the Playstation, and they all love the fact it is so diverse, one minute the two younger boys are playing Little Big planet 3 or Skylanders, the next the older ones have the VR out and are playing Super Hot.
With so many of us in the house its quite a challenge to have a timetable for who wants to go on, so we did have to give in and get another one!
7th March saw the release of Frantics on PS4, it is a playlink game, meaning that although it is on the PS4 console, the actual players use their mobile devices to play.
The children are huge fans of these type of games, because they can sit dotted around the room and not have to worry about the PS4 controllers running out of charge, instead they need to make sure their mobile devices are !
Frantics is a fun family game that anyone can play, I love the fact that different aged children can join in, and mum and dad.
It is a simple game of bonding, brawling and backstabbery. To play the game you needthe PS4 game and then you can download the app from Google play or the App Store.
Once you have the app on your device, turn on the ps4 launch the app and start to play!
It really is that simple.
Frantics is all about 15 whacky mini-games for up to four players, where you’re competing in everything from frenetic action arena brawls to strategic turn based competitions.
Exclusive to PS4, this PlayLink game challenges you to win more ‘crowns’ than your friends. Put your DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controllers to the side – here you can simply use your smart device to swipe, tilt, shake, flick and snap your way to victory. Anyone can do it!
But beware… the scheming and manipulative Fox is on hand to stir up the pot. Using bribery and relaying secret messages and missions to each player via your mobile device, you’re encouraged to sabotage and backstab your rivals at every turn.
With this crafty vulpine’s tomfoolery changing the way you play at any time, you’ll need to have your wits about you to triumph.
We had a fab time playing it all together, as there are 6 of us wanting to play, we swapped in and out, for each game. There are so many different sneaky ways to gain points and make others lose them, that you really have no idea who is going to win until the very last second, so even if you are behind, you may still come through to triumph

Oh my eldest has a PS4 although I think he is a little old for this. My youngest three have never played on a console game system yet, I try to steer them away from technology for as long as possible, but it looks like fun!
We are not at the playstation stage yet! I had no idea that you could now play games via your mobile devices and not use the controllers. This makes me feel old!!
Wow, this sounds very high tec. Play Station has changed a lot since we had one. I love the sound of this game, sounds like a fab one for everyone to play together. 🙂
Monkey is a little young for PS4 but we are considering getting one for his birthday in the Summer when he turns 6. I will have to keep this one in mind should we do it. Although I am sure that Hubby thinks he’s a good idea because he gets to play too!
Oh wow – so cool that they can all join in from their mobile devices. My two aren’t quite at the PS4 stage yet but it won’t be long before Ethan wants one I’m sure!
We are not at the playstation age yet (much to my husbands disappointment!). This does look like lots of fun though and we will no doubt be buying one in the next few years.
That’s really cool that the games can be used on devices as well. And I like that there are many tricks you can develop to win the game from behind, that keeps things interesting!
