With the clocks due to go back next weekend (hooray an extra hour in bed!) the nights will be drawing in sooner and the temperature will start to drop.
Today I heard the gaggle of geese flying overhead, signalling their migration to a warmer climate (only a little bit jealous)
I am currently decorating the kitchen and the utility room, and next on the list will be the lounge.
It’s not a very light room, so I need to keep the walls a light colour, so just a new fresh coat of beige, but there are lots of wonderful autumn accessories that you can add, especially in tones of orange and copper, perfect for this time of year, so here are my top tips for transforming your lounge into an autumn colour scheme.
Adding some light and scent to the room.
It’s not quite cold enough for the open fire, but I do love a flame, a good alternative is some scented candles (I will definitely need these once the puppy arrives!) there are some lovely choices from Neom, you have the flame effect and a nice smell without having to get the chimney swept!
Perfect for a romantic evening, or if we have a power cut!
Snug as a Bug In A Rug
Adding a new rug in a room can transform the look, for the colder months, maybe considering layering them to give more depth and also more warmth, match them with fuzzy cushions and woollen blankets or throws, not only will they look stunning, but you will be warm and toasty.
Back To Nature
This time of year is the perfect time to get out and about and bring the outdoors inside, with pine cones and multi coloured leaves, that are just crying out to be made into a centrepiece or an autumn display. To keep with the nature theme why not throw in a couple of woodland animal cushions.
Do you have any suggestions for adding that touch of autumn to your lounge ?
