Here we are into the second week of October! Today it’s all about holidays!
I love going on holiday with my family, although the more children we have, the harder it gets to find somewhere to accommodate us all!
We are now officially too big for a caravan, unless we are very lucky and can find a 4 bedroom, which does take quite a lot of searching!
So, we tend to go for cottages, as they are great for taking time out away from everything, but also having the option to stay in for the day, if it becomes too much for Tyrus.
We love going on holiday to Wales and the Lake District, and the children love Disneyland Paris, we have been three times and there are definitely plans to go again (but not until the Star Wars area is completely up and running!).
In the meantime, here are 5 places I would love to visit in 2018. (in no particular order, I would be happy with any!)
Center Parcs – We have one at Elvedon forest, which isn’t very far, I have never been but I have heard many good things about it, and the children all adore water and lots of activities, who knows maybe I could get a little me time too!
Butlins – We were Butlins ambassadors for two years and we visited Skegness and Minehead, the children absolutely adored it, but Viggo was only tiny, so I would love to take them back, maybe try Bognor this time!
Bosinver Farm Cottages I have read so many amazing things about this particular group of cottages, and the best part is their farmhouse sleeps up to 12, situated in St Austell in Cornwall, this is definitely on my list.
Low Millgillhead Situated Loweswater in the Lake District, another property that sleeps up to 12, so if I was feeling particularly nice, the older children could bring a friend, we adore the Lake District, and it will always be very special to me, as Asa proposed half way up Helvellyn.
and finally
The ever elusive Bluestone in Wales. I have seen so many bloggers visit and the write ups and the pictures are just stunning, so I have added it to my list for next year, and pray that somebody wants a larger than average family to show what they have to offer !
Do you have a list of places to visit next year, or have you already booked any holidays ?
We’re planning our first family trip abroad next year as my five year old is desperate to go to France. Just weighing up whether to go for a gite or do a Eurocamp-style holiday. We’ll probably also squeeze in a trip to the Yorkshire coast, we go every year!
Center Parcs is amazing games, it is just so easy when you are there. I am hoping to go to London and maybe Scotland next year 🙂
I would love to try Centre Parks. We’re not far from Elvedon either. However it’s quite expensive so I think it will stay on the dream list for a while x
We were lucky enough to have a long weekend at Bluestone. We went with family and the lodges are lovely. Even in winter there is so much to do, I hope you get a chance to visit #blogtober17
Your list of places looks great! We loved the Lake District (and Edale in the Peak District too) – so scenic and beautiful and peaceful, just what you need on holiday!
What a great list of places to visit…
I have read lots about Bluestone too. It looks a fab place for a holiday x
I notice all yours are in Britain too! x
Oh Butlins! I live in Bognor, the Butlins here is great 🙂 There’s loads to do nearby too if you want days out! I’d love to go to the Lake District, it’s on my list of places to visit!

Those are the type of holidays I love, cottages and self catering. So much more relaxing I think. Fingers crossed you get one of your dream ones next year. #blogtober17
I’d love to go to any of these. We’re hoping for our first family holiday abroad this year
We loved Center Parcs, and Bluestone, although weren’t big fans of Butlins. I’d love to go to Cornwall too but it’s just so far away!
This is a great list! We are going to Center Parcs in February half term and I would also like to go somewhere abroad! #blogtober17
