The Girls

My name Is Mandi Jane Morrison. I am aged 49 and a qualified Nursery Nurse, I have  a BA(hons) degree in Childhood and Youth Studies.

I am a partner in AJ Morrison Enterprises, specialising in Leisure & Tourism consulting, PR and Social Media, as well as a SEND 1:1 in a Primary School.

I have been with my husband Asa for 29 years and we have been married for 24 years.
I do not have much time for hobbies as I am pretty much a full time mum/taxi service to our seven wonderful children, (and our Newfoundlands Bree and Belle) which leaves very little spare time!
I do enjoy reading and I love watching all types of films and listening to a wide variety of music.

In April 1998 we had our first daughter that we named Xene, meaning a Welcome Stranger, she lives about 90 minutes away and is a freelance event steward, she is an amazing artist with her every own unique style, she loves all things cosplay and she amazes me with all of the different costumes she makes and designs, each of her instagram pics looks like a completely different person and her facial expressions are perfectly fitting of each character she portrays. She loves the theatre and performing, she is a brilliant dancer, with no formal training.

In April 2003 we welcomed our next daughter Neva, meaning Snow as my husband adores the white stuff! She is the most laid back of the seven and is animal mad and a vegetarian

She is in her final year at university studying Media and English Literature, she lives a short distance away with Charlie and they are expecting their first baby in August and we are all very excited! She loves the theatre and watching Netflix, and currently works at one of the Haven Parks in the creative department.

In November 2008 we had our final little girl, that we named Eowyn, meaning lover of horses, as I used to be a keen horse rider and I am hoping that someone may share my passion.

Being the fifth child means she is most definitely the most outgoing of them all, she never sits still. She is the only Morrison child to have fractured a bone, she is just finishing high school and is starting college in September, studying Textiles, Film and Tv and Media.

The Boys

My husband is Asa, he is in his early fifties , he is an independent Leisure and Tourism Consultant and CEO of Visit Great Yarmouth.

He has lots of varied interests and LOVES the outdoors.

We met whilst working together behind the bar at the local Leisure Centre, it was Asa’s part-time job whilst finishing his degree in Leisure and Tourism, who knew that the meeting in summer 1996 would change his life forever!!

In April 2000 we had our first son, as my husband’s family has a strong Scottish connection, we decided to call him Lochlan meaning from the Land of Lochs, although most people call him Lochi. He is a computer whizz and I call on him often when I need help with the computer!! He loves all things gaming and gadgety, and is a lecturer at the local college in esports, film and TV and Games Development

To break the mould (and to save going completely broke each April) we had Kaide in September 2005, his name keeping with the Scottish theme meaning from the Wet Lands. Kaide is the Sportsman of the family, he has a natural talent for any sport that he has a go at, and has been kicking a football accurately into a goal since the age of three, he is going off to Newcastle university in September to study Sports Science, he currently works at a local Haven Park in the activities team.

Our next little man Tyrus was born at home in June 2011, his name means Thunder, he is extremely chilled, but into everything, he is easily lead astray by Eowyn and Viggo the three of them sneak off to cause chaos!! He is in year nine, he was diagnosed with asd and severe sensory issues in June 2016, he is an amazing guy, and I wish I could see the world from his point of view! He attends a specialist school and he LOVES anything Pokemon.

Finally in September 2013 we had our fourth little boy, changing the girl, boy sequence. A lovely waterbirth, welcomed Viggo to our family, his name means lightning to go with his Big Bro. He was the heaviest of all the children, weighing in at a very impressive 9lb 6oz. He is just about to finish primary school and heading off to a completely different high school than most of his siblings, but he’s taking it all in his stride!

And That is the chaos that is ‘The Morrisons’ xxx

  1. I also have 3 girls and 4 boys. I work as a part time care manager and am in my final year of my nursing degree. I do it alone and it can at times be bedlam but we all work together and help eachother. Our children are absolutely blessed to have such love, laughter and companionship throughout their early lives.
