Hello and welcome to #Blogtober17, I swear it only seems like last week that I was writing the posts for Blogtober16!!
I thought I would be kind and start off with an easy one, so here are some facts about me!
My name is Amanda Jane Morrison, although it’s only my mum who calls me Amanda, to everyone else i’m Mandi, my husband is Asa James Morrison, which makes it dead simple with bank accounts, what’s mine is mine and what’s his is mine !
We first met 21 years ago whilst working together behind a bar in a leisure centre(dead romantic), we worked the entire summer together and became friends, it was only after the summer season and Asa had finished working there that I realised he actually was ‘the one’ so I upped sticks and moved to where his new job was, a real-life romance story!
We have seven children (but I won’t be talking much about them as it’s babies tomorrow!) called Xene, Lochlan, Neva, Kaide, Eowyn, Tyrus and Viggo. We live in a lovely little village in Norfolk with our 20 chickens. I have a BA(Hons) in Childhood & Youth Studies and have worked a fair chunk of my life in childcare, however for the last year I have been working full-time as a partner in our own company, which is a lot easier for childcare and days off, when you are your own boss, and with seven children there are quite a few appointments, reading cafes, parents evenings etc so it works out much better for us.
I am the Brit Mums Arts & Culture and Gardening editor, so if you have any suitable posts, don’t forget to let me know!
I love gardening, reading, and spending time with the family, our eldest Xene went off to university two weeks ago and although she is loving it, I have found it quite difficult as I’ve been used to her being here for the last 19 years!
I have one sister who is 3 years younger than me and is a beauty therapist, we are complete chalk and cheese.
And I think that’s about all for now, you can of course have a read of my About Us Page (although it’s probably out of date as it’s on my to do list of 50,000 things!) or there’s a bit more info from my blogtober16 post.
If you are taking part in #Blogtober17 leave your link below, there’s also a pretty little badge if you want to add it to your posts.
Wow, 7 kids. That’s awesome. I’d love a big family like that but I’m totally rubbish at being pregnant. So stopping at three. Can’t wait to join in with the rest of the posts
I love your children’s names! Two of my children are ‘AJ’ too! Looking forward to reading the rest of your Blogtober posts, this is perfect timing for me as I was in a slump and couldn’t decide what I was doing with my blog but having the prompts has given me lots of fresh ideas x #Blogtober17
Lovely to read all about you and your family Mandi! Looking forward to all the posts!

Happy Blogtober! What a lovely post, your children’s names are so cute and unique!
I love these get to know you posts, I do know what you mean about it feeling like yesterday for blogtober16.
How oh how had I never actually thought that your name wasn’t ‘officially’ Mandi! Duh! Live that you have the same initials as Asa too! #blogtober17

hahaha! I linked to my about me page on my blog post and realised it was so out of date. I hadn’t updated it in over a couple of years. lol
Thank you for running this x
I can’t believe you have 7 kids – I barely cope with 3! Totally agree that they have great names – I wanted to call my son Lochlan but my hubby wasn’t having any of it!
Only 2 people call me by my full name! Everyone calls me Jo. My eldest moved out, and started uni, last week too, weird isn’t it? x
I love your kids names! They are fab! Thanks for organising this again, last year was a ball although i never did get my chocolate 🙁
Well if you complete each day this year, you never know 😉

This looks like such a fun thing to do and how lovely to learn about you.
It’s nice to meet a fellow Early Years/childcarer, so hi ?! I bet it’s odd having a child at uni…I feel like a bit of me is missing when J’s just a stay opportunity group and that’s only 3.5hrs a week haha x
Thank you so much for organising this I am in awe as you are doing this with 7! I am.treading water with 2 you have now made.my heroes list.
I am embarking on a permaculture allotment and am a crafy author so hopefully we could worl together on a post x
See you tomorrow
Great to get to know you, and I think your story of how you met your husband is very romantic! I’ve always wondered what it’d be like to have a big family so I’m glad I’ve come across your blog through this, reluctantly I’m sticking with two kids but I’d love to read more about your brood! #Blogtober17

Lovely to get to know you and wow wee to having 7 children and I thought two was hard. You must be super organised to jungle everything. Look forward to getting to know to more X #Blogtober17
Lovely to find out a bit more about you, and thanks for hosting #Blogtober – I made a last minute decision to take part so hopefully I’ll manage to keep up.
Your children have beautiful names! X
Great post, I love reading a good about me, ok I’m a bit nosey lol. Also just wanted to say thanks for hosting #Blogtober17, its so exciting!
It’s interesting to find out more about you, it must be pretty amazing to have 7 children, but so exhausting! I will try and join in with #blogtober17 as much as I can, although posting every day is impossible for me, and I’m a bit slow with commenting – I do eventually catch up though. Its good to have that extra push and motivation to write more and post more often, without trying to get everything perfect.
What a wonderful idea, glad to be a part of it…I’ll may have read of these links by NEXT October but I’ll get there xxx
I know what you mean ! I have only commented up to 25 on day 1 so far!
